Christine Shields Kann is the President and Owner of CSK Marketing, Inc., a marketing services
firm based in Racine, Wisconsin. The company provides marketing support in the form of qualitative
market research, facilitation, and product management support. Specifically, Chris is a professionally
trained moderator who has conducted research for consumer and business-to-business clients in
the apparel, consumer products, cleaning products, sporting goods, food, tool, and industrial
electronics industries.
Prior to starting her own company, Chris spent nearly eleven years in various corporate marketing
positions at Jockey International, Inc., IN-SINK-ERATOR, and Johnson Outdoor. During that time,
she was responsible for the national launch of Jockey
For Her Hosiery and other products in the plumbing and fishing industries. Chris received
a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Chris has contributed her personal and professional skills as President of the Racine/Kenosha
Chapter of Wisconsin Women Entrepreneurs/National Association of Women Business Owners
(WWE/NAWBO) in 2000-2003. She recently became Immediate Past President, and will continue
to serve on the board managing Corporate Partnering. At the State level, she was Chair of
the Women Triumphant statewide awards event in 2002 and 2003 and serves on the board of NAWBO
Wisconsin Inc. as the Director of Corporate Development. In addition, Chris is the Midwest
Chair for the Corporate and Economic Development Council of NAWBO, working to identify corporations
interested in partnering with NAWBO chapters, both nationally and statewide.
Because of her work with women business owners, in May 2003, Chris received the Small
Business Administration’s Award for Women In Business Advocate Award in Wisconsin. Additionally,
in the Spring of 2002, Chris was named to the “30 Under 40: 30 Young Adults Who Are
Making a Difference in Racine County” by The Racine Journal Times.
Chris has volunteered her time to provide facilitation skills training to the RAMAC
Leadership Racine class, and Racine County Girl Scout leaders. She has conducted
classes on marketing and market research for Wisconsin
Women Business Initiative Corp. (WWBIC) and at the Workforce Development Center in Racine.
She has also donated her marketing skills over the years in service to Big Sisters of Racine,
the Jane Cramer Foundation, Sustainable Racine, and The Prairie School.
In her professional association, the Qualitative Research Consultants
Association (QRCA), Chris
has assumed a leadership role as Co-Chair of the Chicago Chapter. She has also served on the
Annual Conference planning committee for two years, and been a presenter at conferences in 2002
and 2003.
Chris
is a passionate Badger fan and is involved with the UW-Madison
Alumni Club of Racine where she has been an active member, President/Co-President, Corporate
Fundraising Chair, and Board member for over 13 years. The organization has been funding scholarships
for Racine students who will be attending UW-Madison all 13 years. She also serves on the National
Board for the Wisconsin Alumni Association,
and is an active member of their Badger
Action Network which provides lobbying support for UW-Madison issues and funding. She
has also served on their Membership and Branding committees.
Chris is a member of professional associations such as the National
Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), the Racine
Area Manufacturers and Commerce (RAMAC), and the QRCA
(Qualitative Research Consultants Association).
In 2001 and 2002, Chris was the Chair of the Church Council at Franksville
United Methodist Church. She also sings in the choir, and serves as a lay liturgist and
usher. Chris currently serves on the Staff/Parish Relations and Creative Worship committees.
Chris is pursuing additional opportunities in her career as a writer, having had numerous articles
published in 2002 and 2003. She also enjoys golfing, traveling, and sports.
Chris has lived in Racine
since 1987 with her husband, Joe. They have two daughters, Elynn and Rebecca.
